About the project

Hivedeck is a startup in its early growth stage. The product is a free website builder for small and medium business owners, creatives and entrepreneurs. Services (aka hives) include a blog feature that allows users create posts with customized templates and share it with their audience. Also included is a restaurant feature that allows food vendors and restaurant owners create an online restaurant/store which is accessible to the general public via a food ordering system.

The Challenge

After an outsourcing experience gone wrong, users found it difficult to use the application properly due to its instability. Being aware of our experience in design and development, our client asked us to do a full UI redesign and implementation of the entire application. For the first phase of development, the solution should also support mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones. Users should have the ability to create multiple websites with one account and have all services available to them. Also, users should be able to connect their 3rd party domain(s) to their website. Another essential requirement was to implement various integrations into application. These integrations include payment integrations to different payment providers, Facebook instant article integration to the blog and integrations into various social media apps such as Whatsapp and Telegram for notifications, Instagram for image import and Instagram shopping.
